Climatological maps of Oxygen Depletion Risk in the Adriatic – Ionian Macroregion provided by EMIS – Environmental Marine Information System (EU-JRC) (http://emis.jrc.ec.europa.eu/emis_5_0.php).
The product derives from the algorithm developed within JRC and uses physical and biological variables to assess the hydrodynamic processes at the surface and the physical and biological conditions at the seabed that represent favorable conditions for eutrophication (Djavidnia & al., 2005). The OXYRISK index characterises the most probable occurrence of oxygen deficiency at the sea bottom in coastal areas due to the degradation of organic matter. Spatial resolution 4 km, time period of analysis 1998-2008. Computational analysis and input data at http://emis.jrc.ec.europa.eu/emis_2_3_2.php- Publication Date
